Historically, winemakers often co-ferment the red grape, Syrah, with a small amount of the white grape, Viognier. Here at Zerba Cellars, we put a twist on this technique by co-fermenting Viognier and Syrah with the Italian grape, Sangiovese. This results in a varietal Sangiovese unlike any other. Feminine aromas of rose petals and dried purple flowers meld seamlessly with typical varietal aromas of leather, tobacco, and spice. Savory, complex, and highly aromatic, this wine represents both what Sangiovese is, and what it can be!
